Caribbean filmmakers usher in ‘A New Day’ with a lineup of uniquely colourful stories

Idris Elba’s Directorial Debut Yardie Canadian Premiere Screening at the 2019 CaribbeanTales International Film Festival Media Launch

TORONTO, July 5, 2019 – This September 4 -20 at the Royal Cinema and Imagine Cinemas Carlton, CaribbeanTales is set to showcase the Caribbean’s rich culture and perspectives on the silver screen with their 14th Annual Film Festival.

The theme of the 2019 CaribbeanTales Film Festival (CTFF2019) is ‘A New Day.’ “It is a brand new day for Caribbean film, a day where filmmakers are able to stand up with pride and hope  eyes and hearts ever upward,” says Diana Webley, CTFF Co-director. “Our voices are being heard and the depth of our stories, our legends, our unique perspective on the world, is even more poignant and relevant.
