For the Cross Continental Forum, the decolonial co-production platform that has already brought together over 150 producers across four continents, that engine room is the Steering Group. This year, as CCF expands to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and then to Toronto during TIFF, the committee guiding this work is more formidable than ever. These aren’t figureheads. They’re dealmakers, storytellers, economists, and institution-builders, and they are deeply, personally invested in what we’re building together.

A Day in a Bajan Life: Part 2 – “14 years later. Sunny Barbados. Same island. New stories.”
Penelope Hynam joined us as part of the CCF 2024 cohort, bringing with her a decades-long body of work rooted in Barbadian life and Caribbean storytelling. She came to the Forum with a clear vision — and she left with the tools, connections, and momentum to see it through.
This year, Penelope has completed A Day in a Bajan Life: Part 2 — a ten-part documentary series that picks up where her celebrated 2012 original left off.
That first series screened at the CaribbeanTales Film Festival in Toronto, won an award in Los Angeles, and reached television audiences across the European Union and Barbados. It remains part of the CTMG distribution catalogue.

The series is now completed and seeking international distribution and marketing partnerships. With Barbados marking its 60th anniversary as a nation and its fifth year as a Republic, the timing couldn’t be better for a story that is deeply, proudly Bajan — and unmistakably global in its reach.
