The World Premiere of the Trailer, and exclusive never-before seen behind the scenes footage

of

BROWN GIRL BEGINS

Inspired by Nalo Hopkinson’s award winning novel “BROWN GIRL IN THE RING” CaribbeanTales International Film Festival is excited to be hosting this trailer launch, and to give viewers a sneak-peak into what it took to make this film! The director will also be in attendance for a Q&A!

Synopsis

In 2049 the poor are confined to an island off the mainland of Toronto renamed The Burn. Ti-Jeanne, a reluctant priestess, must resurrect Caribbean spirits and survive the possession ritual that killed her mother or her people will die.

      Sharon Lewis says, “As an alumni of the CaribbeanTales Incubator it is a true honor to be able to participate in the media launch of the CaribbeanTales Film Festival that is a showcase and supporter of the wealth of storytelling talent that sprouts from the Caribbean and the diaspora”.
